When I first saw The Swiss Re Tower in London, I thought it was awesome!

Now the dildo shaped skyscraper might soon debut in Kuala Lumpur…

Dinosaur egg- or dildo-shaped? You decide.  

It will most probably be built in the vicinity of Bukit Bintang by a property company of a listed group.

“Six-star” The St. Regis Hotel & Residences Kuala Lumpur

The above is a preliminary study and design. Final design to be unveiled late next year or early 2010. 

Location: Lot C, KL Sentral

Description: 1.4 million sqft mixed-use development called One IFC, comprising residential + hospitality + a proposed office tower. 200 hotel rooms and 200 freehold apartments.

Architect: Mustafa Kemal Abadan, design partner of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill LLP (New York)

Developer: One IFC Sdn Bhd (Tan Sri Chua Ma Yu and Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd)

Development Value: ~RM1 billion

Projected floors: 50 to 80 storeys

Year of opening: 2012-2014

Note: This development is next to Lot D, KL Sentral which is the site for the proposed 60-storey twin residential towers. Developed by MRCB-CapitaLand-Quill Group, it will have 700 luxurious units and will be the tallest residential building in Malaysia. There will be a soft launch in a month or two and an official launch perhaps at the end of the year.

Upcoming Commercial Projects

Puchong Business Financial Centre, Bandar Puteri, Puchong

Construction work for the first two blocks has started and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2009. Work on the other three blocks will start early next year and the buildings will be ready by 2011.

Setia Walk, Pusat Bandar Puchong

Located on 20.8 acres in the matured township of Pusat Bandar Puchong, the project enjoys good frontage and visibility to the LDP and Jalan Wawasan, the township’s main thoroughfare.

Phase one will comprise 85 blocks of four, six and seven storey of shop offices offering 170 retail units and 336 office units. The shop offices are priced between RM2.5mil and RM8.9mil a block. Phase two will comprise the hotel, entertainment complex and an office tower. The apartments will be built under phase three.

It would have three main zones – active zone (child development centre, play-zones and children-centric products); sanctuary zone (fine dining, spa and beauty care centres) and the escape zone (ideal for relaxing and unwinding with alfresco dining, cafes and bistro). The business hotel and entertainment complex will be the anchors on both ends of the commercial precinct. The entertainment complex with over 300,000 sq ft of gross lettable area will have cineplexes, bowling alleys and karaoke lounges.
