Welcome to Malaysia City’s “Megacities of Malaysia” section. This page is dedicated to some of Malaysia’s most brilliant Integrated Urban Developments. The projects below are set out in this form: Name of Project / Metro Area / Developer / Status or Expected commencement / Gross Development Value (GDV in RM).
Note: For individual or smaller-scale projects, kindly refer to “KL Urban Plans” section.
KLANG VALLEY
Klang Valley or Lembah Klang is an area in Malaysia comprising capital Kuala Lumpur and its suburbs, and adjoining cities of Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang and other towns in the state of Selangor. An alternative reference to this would be Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan Area or Greater Kuala Lumpur, though neither of these terms is used locally. The conurbation has a total population of over 6 million as of 2006, and is the heartland of Malaysia’s industry and commerce. [Wikipedia, 2007]
